We are currently taking applications for two posts: Administrator/Support Worker at our Gateshead Hub and a Care Leavers Support Worker.


Handcrafted Projects: Gateshead Hub Administrator / Support Worker

The key roles are:

Administration

  • Managing the administration of the Gateshead hub including trainee records and the day to day financial activities of the hub
  • Maintaining housing records, monitoring the maintenance of properties and supporting residents through the process of changing address and settling in
  • Managing training contracts, including financial reporting and enrolling trainees

Support

  • Support Handcrafted male and female residents and trainees to access activities and support offered by Handcrafted.
  • Support residents in maintaining sustainable tenancies and safe, comfortable housing environments.
  • Help to empower trainees within the workshop environment to grow in confidence and become more independent.
  • Encourage residents and trainees to develop healthy strategies to cope with challenging situations.

Reporting to: Gateshead Project Development Officer
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, typically 8.30am until 4.30pm Mon-Fri
Location: Gateshead Hub, Wordsworth Street, plus visiting Handcrafted housing throughout the Borough of Gateshead
Salary: £19,345

Handcrafted Projects: Care Leavers Support Co-ordinator

Key roles

  • Work proactively with young people aged 16-25 who have been in Local Authority care, to ensure that they can engage with the support at Handcrafted that will empower them
  • Collaborate with staff across all of the Handcrafted hubs and projects to develop our approach and create opportunities for young people who have not engaged with other available support
  • Network with partner organisations, particularly Social Services, to ensure we connect with the people who most need our support
  • Demonstrate effectiveness in order to sustain our partner relationship with funders and referrers and to influence the wider national picture of how young people are supported as they leave Local Authority care

Reporting to: Operations Director
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Location: Various across the North East
Salary: £19,345 – £23,415 depending on experience
